The Reverend Mark Ramsey
Mark Ramsey most recently served as the Senior Pastor of the 2,200 member Westlake Hills Presbyterian Church in Austin, Texas. He moved to Texas after nine years at Grace Covenant Presbyterian Church in Asheville, NC. He has also served churches in the Chicago area, Denver, Michigan and the Washington D.C. area. He has served as an adjunct instructor at Pittsburgh Theological Seminary and been a preacher for Montreat Conference Center’s summer worship series. He has been a leader and speaker at the NEXT Church conference and at retreats in Montana and Iowa on behalf of Macedonian Ministry. He just completed three very meaningful years as a participant in the Asheville Macedonian group. Mark is an Associate Editor and frequent contributor to Journal for Preachers and has written selections for Feasting on the Gospels. A special passion right now is working with a group of scholars and pastors, funded by the Louisville Institute, on the challenges of race, church, and theological practice. Mark finds this time in church life exhilarating and challenging all at the same time. A native of Central Illinois, he is a proud graduate of the University of Virginia, and also received an M.Div. from Princeton Theological Seminary.
The Reverend Adam S. Borneman
Rev. Adam Borneman serves on staff with Macedonian Ministry as Program Director for Cohorts and Alumni. Raised in Snellville, GA, he is a graduate of Samford University and Gordon-Conwell Theological Seminary in Boston, MA (M.Div., Th.M.), and came to Macedonian Ministry after serving as pastor at Second Presbyterian Church in Birmingham, AL. In addition to serving with Macedonian Ministry, Rev. Borneman stays busy with writing projects, cycling, hiking, fretting over professional baseball, and spending time with his wife Jessica and two young daughters, Maggie and Hannah.
Ms. Laura Long
Director of Communications
Laura Long serves as Director of Communications for Macedonian Ministry where she oversees all strategic communications for the organization. Laura graduated with honors from Georgia Southern University with a B.S. in both Business and Sociology and is a member of the Golden Key International Honors Society.
A native of Ellijay, GA, Laura now resides with her husband and son in Acworth, GA.
Ms. Laura Whitaker
Director of Operations
Laura Whitaker is the Director of Operations of the Macedonian Ministry Foundation and the Corporate Governance Manager of the CF Foundation. She received her B.A. from the University of the South in Sewanee, TN, and then moved to Atlanta to embark on a near twenty-year career for the Cousins Family Office. She has served in many different capacities throughout her career, including Special Events Coordinator for the East Lake Foundation, where she assisted in the fundraising campaigns of the Charlie Yates Golf Course and Drew Charter School; and Program Director for the Cousins family foundations, where she was responsible for oversight and facilitation of the grant making process, and the development and implementation of an outcomes-based evaluation system. Laura is a 2001 Hull Leadership Graduate, and served on the Board of Directors of Odyssey Atlanta.
She currently resides in Kennesaw, GA with her husband and daughter.
The Reverend Jennifer Maxell
Jennifer is a preacher, teacher, The Breakthrough Fellowship church co-founder, life Coach, and writer known for her interactive teaching and creative communication style. She is also the founder of The Ellipsis Experience Conference for Women and Teenage Girls. She received her BA in Philosophy from Howard University, and an MDiv from Emory’s Candler School of Theology, earning Certificates in Black Church Studies and Religious Education.
The Reverend Adam Mixon
Adam Mixon has been preaching and pastoring for over 25 years, serving the Zion Spring Baptist Church, Birmingham Alabama for almost 18 years. He was educated at the University of Cincinnati, Samford University, and Beeson Divinity School.
Adam has served several years as the President of the Pastors and Minister’s Conference and as Dean of the Educational Congress within the New Era Progressive Baptist State Convention of Alabama, as well as a member of the official staff in the local district association. He has been a preaching peer-group facilitator for the Lilly Group in association with Beeson Divinity School, and currently serves on the faculty. In addition, Adam is a Facilitator for Macedonian Ministry’s Birmingham, AL 2 cohort. Adam enjoys serving as a mentor for several programs and doing the work of a community activist.
Dr. Ryan Bonfiglio
Pilgrimage Formation Curator
Ryan serves as the Stembler Scholar and Director of Biblical & Theological Studies at First Presbyterian Church of Atlanta. Prior to arriving at FPC, he served as a Lecturer of Old Testament at Columbia Theological Seminary. Ryan is married to Jamie Butcher, who is a PC(USA) pastor in the Presbytery of Greater Atlanta. They have an energetic and playful toddler named Leo. Ryan is originally from southeastern Pennsylvania and suffers from a life-long love of Philadelphia sports teams.
Shannon is an energetic young man who has spent his early professional life working with non-profits and public policy groups in Washington, D.C. Through his work with Jesuit Refugee Service and other non-profit organizations, Shannon established a career objective of working within a faith-based organization to positively impact his community.
Shannon graduated magna cum laude from Georgetown University with a degree concentration in international affairs and business technology. He has spent several years working in our nation’s capital, most recently as analyst with the U.S. Council on Competitiveness, a member organization of business, university, and public service leaders seeking to advance beneficial economic policy initiatives.
Shannon and his wife relocated to Atlanta so he can assume his role with Macedonian Ministry, while she pursues an accelerated nursing degree at Emory University.
